Split Pea Soup Instant Pot


2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 cup onion chopped
2 cloves garlic pressed or chopped fine
1 medium to sweet potato diced
3 medium carrots diced
2 cups split peas
1 cup brown lentils
8 cups water
5 bay leaves
4 teas salt
20 grinds of black pepper


Sauté the mushrooms in coconut oil on high until they start to brown. Add the onions and sauté for 5 minutes more, adding the garlic at the end. Add the water, sweet potato, carrot, split peas, brown lentils, bay leaves, salt and pepper to your Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 25 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally.
